This course explores approaches to teaching and learning science and technology that are inclusive and equitable, promote active engagement, and foster a sense of wonder and curiosity in learners. Teacher candidates will learn how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) knowledge and skills can be integrated across the curriculum to maximize student learning at the Primary/Junior level. Instructional models and teaching resources for scientific research, scientific experimentation, and engineering design will be identified and critically evaluated. The course will model classroom practices through real-world applications of concepts, collaborative hands-on learning, and the integration of technological tools and coding. The importance of diverse perspectives and contributions to STEM fields, including Indigenous knowledges, will be emphasized. Registration Notes: Only available to Bachelor of Education students.
